The Larkin Centre offers new training opportunities for participants of the Back to Work Enterprise Allowance Scheme, Social protection clients and others. These training, mentoring and coaching facilities are available year round. The programs are aimed at increasing the persons’ ‘business skills’ and therefore strengthening the business. It is co-sponsored by Department of Social Protection and the Dublin City Enterprise Board, and is delivered by a panel of experts co-ordinated through the Larkin Centre. Below is a short explanation of what is available.
One to one business skills training and mentoring. You will be able to avail of expert advice in specific business areas e.g. accountancy, taxation, business legal structure, marketing and computing.
Bookkeeping and tax self-assessment course. This is a one evening course run over 3 hours. This will give the participant the knowledge needed to set up and maintain a book-keeping system and to understand the basic requirements needed for doing annual tax returns.
Consultation with tax adviser plus tax returns processed on-line through Revenue On-line Services.
Legal advise service.
Social welfare information & advocacy service.
Basic introduction to computers. This will give you the basic skills needed to use a computer.
Intermediate computer skills. This will offer a more in-depth study of excel, word, access, PowerPoint, internet explorer and relevant office packages common to modern business.
Low cost room hire for business meetings.
